Patterning & Draping Workshop: 2 Days

Instruction and practice on:

-- drafting skirt patterns from measurements and sketches

-- using a written formula and measurements to create a fitted bodice sloper and sleeve

-- moving darts and seam lines within a bodice pattern

-- slashing and spreading sleeve and bodice patterns to create new garment shapes

-- flat patterning of collars

-- using existing patterns as a shortcut

-- correcting pattern size to fit the performer

-- creating skirt, bodice, and collar patterns by draping fabric directly onto dress forms

Appropriate ages: Late high school through college

Presenter required to have at least one dress form available for every 2 students
